Hypothesis: I think the sponge will absorb the most water because it has many tiny holes.

Materials: 3 cotton balls, 3 paper towels, 3 small sponges, measuring cup, water, scale, timer

Procedure:

1. Weigh each dry material and record
2. Soak each material in water for 30 seconds
3. Remove and weigh again
4. Calculate water absorbed (wet weight - dry weight)
5. Repeat 3 times for each material
