Building Suspenseful Sentences
Start with a simple sentence: 'Trees stood in the forest' Add adjectives: 'Tall, ancient trees stood in the dark forest' Add an embedded clause: 'Tall, ancient trees, which creaked eerily, stood in the dark forest' Add atmosphere: 'The tall, ancient trees, which creaked eerily in the wind, loomed over the shadowy forest path'
