Key Persuasive Device #1: Emotive Language
Words that create strong emotional responses Appeals to feelings rather than just facts Examples: 'devastating', 'heartwarming', 'outrageous', 'inspiring' Makes the audience feel connected to the message
Key Persuasive Device #2: Repetition
Repeating words, phrases, or ideas for emphasis Helps the audience remember key points Creates rhythm and impact in speech Example: 'We must act now, we must act together, we must act decisively'

Questions asked for effect, not expecting an answer Makes the audience think and engage mentally Often implies the obvious answer Example: 'Isn't it time we took action?' 'How long will we wait?'
Key Persuasive Device #4: Inclusive Language
Uses words like 'we', 'us', 'our' to create unity Makes the audience feel part of the group Builds connection between speaker and listener Example: 'Together, we can make a difference' vs 'You should make a difference'
